Recommendation Concerning the First Amendment to Memorandum of Agreement between Escambia County and the Humane Society of Pensacola, Florida, Inc. - Tim Tolbert, Building Official/Building Services Department Director

That the Board take the following action concerning the First Amendment to Memorandum of Agreement between Escambia County and the Humane Society of Pensacola, Florida, Inc.:

A. Approve the Amendment; and

B. Authorize the Chairman to sign the Amendment.

BACKGROUND:

At the Budget Committee of the Whole workshop on July 12, 13, and 14, 2016, the Board approved continuing the allocation of $25,000 to The Humane Society of Pensacola, Florida, Inc. for spay and neuter services for eligible Escambia County residents. At its meeting on August 4, 2016, the Board approved the allocation from the General Fund Reserves. The 2016 Memorandum of Agreement provides that the parties’ rights and duties shall continue for a term of five years but referenced only the funding for Fiscal Year 2015/2016. The proposed Amendment ratifies the rights and duties in effect under the 2016 Memorandum of Agreement, references funding for Fiscal Year 2016/2017, and adds the language mandated by the 2016 amendments to Florida’s public records law.
