RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning the Gulf Power Contract for General Area Lighting Service for Waste Services Perdido Landfill Parking Area - Patrick T. Johnson, Waste Services Department Director

That the Board take the following action concerning the Gulf Power Company Contract for Street and General Area Lighting Service, between Gulf Power Company and Escambia County:

A. Approve Gulf Power Contract No. 16-3190 for Waste Services Perdido Landfill Parking Lot Areas, (Option 3), for $2,685 (Up-front cost), and $34.54 monthly fee (energy and maintenance of lighting); and

B. Authorize the Chairman or Vice Chairman to execute the Contract and all related documents.

BACKGROUND:

This contract will provide for the installation of Two (2) 30979 LED 274W ATB2 S2 Fixtures and install 282 feet of #4 AL Duplex. Option 3 allows for the customer to pay up-front for wire and fixtures. When new lights are paid up front, Gulf Power requires an agreement stating that if any part of these lights has to be replaced after the useful life period has expired, the customer will be given the option of paying up front again or putting the cost on monthly billing.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

Option 3 Up-front costs would be $2,685; monthly billing for the energy and maintenance for the lights at a rate of $34.54 per month. Funding for this project is available in Fund 401, Cost Center 230301.

LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF:

The County Attorney's Office has reviewed the contract and approved it as to form and legal sufficiency.
