Recommendation Concerning Waste Services Department Equipment Purchase - Patrick T. Johnson, Waste Services Department Director

That the Board approve the purchase of one 2017 International 60,600# GVRW 6x4 Tandem Axle Tractor, and authorize the issuance of a Purchase Order, in the amount of $148,883, to Ward International Trucks, Inc.

In compliance with the Local Preference Initiative, VE 16-17.004 was posted on the Escambia County website with the "Pending Vehicle and Equipment Purchases" for 30 days. Ward International Trucks, Inc., proposed the low cost offer.

BACKGROUND:

VE 16-17.004 Solid Waste Equipment Purchase, 2017 60,600# GVRW 6x4 Tandem Axle Tractor was posted on the Escambia County website with the "Pending Vehicle and Equipment Purchases" for thirty (30) days in compliance with the Local Preference Initiative. Ward International Trucks, Inc. submitted their proposal which was the low cost offer. This vehicle will be used to transport municipal solid waste from the Palafox Transfer Station to the Perdido Landfill.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

Funding for the purchase of this equipment is available in Fund 401, Solid Waste, Cost Center 230307, Object Code 56401

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:

This recommendation is in compliance with Escambia County Code of Ordinances, Chapter 46, Article II, Purchases and Contracts.

IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:

After Board approval, a Purchase Order will be issued from the Office of Management and Budget.
