RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning Award and Purchase of three Hyper Converged Solution Server and Storage - Shawn Fletcher, Information Technology Department Director

That the Board approve and authorize the issuance of a Purchase Order for three Hyper Converged Solution Server and Storage units in the amount of $150,000.27, from the Technology Integration Group for installation and set-up.

BACKGROUND:

The invitation to bid, PD 15-16.106 Hyper Converged Solution Server and Storage Purchase was advertised in the Pensacola News Journal on September 26, 2016 for 30 days. Three bids were received on October 26, 2016, for this solicitation. Technology Integration Group was the most responsive and lowest bidder.

This server and storage solution will be used to replace outdated equipment that will be going end of life and support. It will also increase the performance of the virtual server environment.

Funds for this purchase order are available in Fund 001, General Fund, Cost Center 270102, Object Code 56401, Information Technology.

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:

This recommendation is in compliance with Chapter 46, Article II Purchases and Contracts of the Escambia County Code of Ordinances and Purchasing Policy PP120 and PP130.

IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:

The Information Technology Department will prepare the necessary requisition to be submitted to the Office of Purchasing for processing.
