RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation Concerning the Contract Extension for Chemical Water Treatment Contract, PD 13-14.013 - David W. Wheeler, CFM, Facilities Management Department Director

That the Board take the following action concerning the Chemical Water Treatment Contract, PD 13-14.013:

A. Approve the first 12-month Contract extension, effective February 19, 2017, to Triple Point Industries, LLC.; and

B. Authorize the Chairman to sign all related documents.

BACKGROUND:
On February 6, 2014 the Board awarded the Chemical Water Treatment Contract PD 13-14.013 to Triple Point Industries, LLC  for a period of three (3) years, with an option to extend for two additional one (1) year terms for a total of five (5) years. The three (3) year period expires on February 18, 2017, and the contract manager is requesting to exercise the first one (1) year extension.   

This Chemical Water Treatment Service and Maintenance Contract furnishes all professional services, equipment, controls and chemicals required to prevent scale build-up and corrosion in boilers, cooling towers, condensers, chillers, and closed recirculating systems at 17 of the County's buildings.

Triple Point Industries, LLC has agreed to offer the same terms and conditions with no price increase.

The Board has requested that contract extensions be taken to the Board for approval.

This recommendation is in compliance with the code of Ordinances of Escambia, FL 1999, Chapter 46, Finance, Article II, Purchase and Contracts.  The Board has request that contract extensions be taken back to the Board for approval.
