RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning Supplemental Budget Amendment #028 - Stephan Hall, Budget Manager, Management and Budget Services

That the Board adopt the Resolution approving Supplemental Budget Amendment #028, Other Grants and Projects Fund (110) in the amount of $215,602, to recognize proceeds from three Department of Justice Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Grants, and to appropriate these funds for the Escambia County Sheriff's Department for "street level crime prevention activities".

BACKGROUND:

Escambia County has been awarded a new Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) and the balance of two previously awarded JAG Grants. These funds will be used for salaries for officers to do additional bike patrols in areas or communities with increased calls for service from the Sheriff's Department.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

This amendment will increase Fund 110 in the amount of $215,602.

LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF:

PERSONNEL:

Existing staff will be used in the bike patrols, this will be overtime funding provided by the grant.
