RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning the Funding Allocation for the Perdido Key Chamber of Commerce Star Spangled Salute Festival - Commissioner Robert Bender, District 4

That the Board approve the funding allocation of $500 from Commissioner Robert Bender's Discretionary Fund to sponsor the Perdido Key Chamber of Commerce Star Spangled Salute Festival that will take place on Saturday, May 18, 2019.

BACKGROUND:

The Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce along with the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Division, NAS Pensacola, are partnering together to present the "Star Spangled Salute Festival" in appreciation of our military and this donation will be used to support this event. This event is completely free to all active duty and retired military members and their families. The event will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2019.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

As part of the Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Budget approved by the Board, each Commissioner received $50,000 to use at their discretion.

Upon Board approval, Commissioner Robert Bender's office will work with the Perdido Key Chamber of Commerce to obtain the necessary paperwork to issue a payment voucher.
