MINUTES MERIT SYSTEM PROTECTION BOARD REGULAR MEETING APRIL 10, 2018 - 5:00 P.M. ERNIE LEE MAGAHA GOVERNMENT COMPLEX 221 PALAFOX PLACE, 4th FLOOR TRAINING ROOM PENSACOLA, FL 32502 Members Present: Rev. Gene Hudson Fay Harvey Silvia Switzer Members Absent: None Staff Present: V. Keith Wells The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Gene Hudson.


1.					INVOCATION: Fay Harvey

2.					PLEDGE: Silvia Switzer

3.					There being no additions to the agenda, Fay Harvey moved to adopt the agenda. Silvia Switzer seconded, and the motion carried unanimously. Upon call for the approval of the minutes of the MSPB meeting of 3/13/18, Fay Harvey moved for approval. Silvia Switzer seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.

4.					PUBLIC FORUM: No one came to address the Board.

5.					OLD BUSINESS: Board Attorney provided an update to the pending appeals that had settled upon agreement between the employer and employee/appellant. Silvia Switzer moved to ratify the settlement agreements, Fay Harvey seconded. Motion passed.

6.					NEW BUSINESS: Board attorney reported a pre hearing had been scheduled for the appeal of Brian Nelloms. His hearing would be scheduled following the May board meeting should the parties fail to settle at mediation.

7.					REPORT FROM APPOINTING AUTHORITIES AND ELECTED OFFICIALS: a. Board of County Commissioners b. Santa Rosa Island Authority (SRIA) c. Escambia County Sheriff’s Dept.

8.					ATTORNEY’S REPORT: The attorney’s report was presented as part of the old and new business discussion.

9.					ADJOURNMENT: Fay Harvey moved, Silvia Switzer seconded, motion passed - adjournment.
