Recommendation Concerning Supplemental Budget Amendment #301, Reimbursement from Logan Place Homeowners Association for a Speed Calming Device, Joy Jones, P.E., Engineering Department Director - Stephan Hall, Budget Manager, Management and Budget Services

That the Board adopt the Resolution approving Supplemental Budget Amendment #301, Transportation Trust Fund (175), in the amount of $3,895, to recognize a reimbursement from Logan Place Homeowners Association for a speed calming device and the associated installation and maintenance costs, and to appropriate these funds back into Traffic Operations budget.

BACKGROUND:

Escambia County Traffic Operations has received a reimbursement from Logan Place Homeowners Association for a speed calming device and the associated installation and maintenance costs.

In May 2019, County Staff was contacted by the Logan Place Homeowners Association about acquiring a radar speed display sign to be installed alongside the roadway within the subdivision to help with speeding concerns. Staff informed the association that the County would purchase, install and maintain the sign even though the funding for the sign purchase and installation is to come from private funds. The association understands and agrees with the County owning and maintaining the sign.

Due to the speeding concerns and after written confirmation from the association agreeing the pay for the sign, County Staff installed a radar speed display sign and it is now fully operational. The funds, once accepted, will reimburse the County expenses incurred to acquire, install and maintain the sign.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

This Amendment will increase Fund 175 by $3,895.
