RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning Modification #1 to the State-Funded Grant Agreement Between the Florida Division of Emergency Management and Escambia County - John Dosh, Interim Public Safety Department Director

That the Board take the following action regarding Modification #1 to the State-Funded Grant Agreement between the Florida Division of Emergency Management and Escambia County:

A. Approve Modification #1 to the State-Funded Grant Agreement between the Florida Division of Emergency Management and Escambia County that the Florida Division of Emergency Management initiated to refine the deliverable requirements and language found in Attachment E of the original Grant Contract; and

B. Authorize the Chairman or Vice Chairman to execute the Grant Agreement.

BACKGROUND:

The State of Florida Division of Emergency Management initiated the request for this Modification #1 to the original State-Funded Grant Agreement, Contract #A0015, that was originally approved by the Board on July 18, 2019. The State is requesting small changes to the Grant deliverables and language as found within Attachment E. There is no change to the Grant award amount or to the local budget as originally requested and approved by the Board.

LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF:

Kristin Hual, Senior Assistant County Attorney, has reviewed Modification #1 and approved it as to form and legal sufficiency.

PERSONNEL:

N/A

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:

Board of County Commissioners' Policies require Board approval for Grant Agreements.

IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:

John Dosh, Division of Emergency Management Manager, will oversee implementation of Modification #1 upon approval by the Board. This Grant is being coordinated with the Florida Division of Emergency Management.
