RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning Budget Amendment #079 for Capital Purchases for the Escambia County Library System - Stephan Hall, Budget Manager, Office of Management and Budget

That the Board approve Budget Amendment # 079, Library Operations, Library Fund (113), in the amount of $165,000 to cover the purchases of four replacement vans for Library operations and events. The purchase includes the four vans, graphic wraps, ADA-approved access trays, cargo barriers, trailer for mobile STEAM Lab with graphics, and two generators for mobile STEAM events. These funds have been approved by the West Florida Public Library (WFPL) Board of Governance (meeting date March 26, 2018) and will come from Fund 113 reserves (balance $2,825,762).

BACKGROUND:

The WFPL Board of Governance approved the purchase of four (4) replacement vans and accessories for the Library operations at their March 26, 2018 Board meeting. The purchase includes the four vans, graphic wraps, ADA approved access trays, cargo barriers, trailer for mobile STEAM Lab with graphics, 2 generators for mobile STEAM events. The vans are to be purchased under contract # 25100000-18-1 as directed by Purchasing Procedure # PP-066 (10/1/2013). The accessories followed purchasing guidelines to determine suppliers from the Diversity Database (none found) and requesting 3 quotes for each items in making the determination and selection of the chosen vendors (local preferred).

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

This amendment will increase capital funds in Fund 113 by $165,000.
