RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning the Lake Stone Campground Facility Management Agreement - Michael Rhodes, Parks & Recreation Department Director

That the Board approve the Agreement between Escambia County Board of County Commissioners and Dennis Keith Cole for the Management of the Lake Stone Campground Facility and authorize the County Administrator to sign the Agreement.

[Funding Source: Fund 001, General Fund, Lake Stone, Cost Center 350204, in the amount of $11,400, paid via 12 equal monthly installments of $950, with housing and utilities provided. This amount is currently allocated in the Fiscal Year 2017 Budget and will be budgeted in Fiscal Year 2018]

BACKGROUND:

The Lake Stone Campground is located at 801 W. Highway 4, Century, Florida. Since the inception of the Lake Stone Campground, the BCC has entered into an Agreement for onsite caretaker/management services at the facility. Dennis Keith Cole has served as the caretaker since June 2013.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

The funding source for the Agreement is General Fund 001, Lake Stone Cost Center 350204, in the amount of $11,400, paid via 12 equal monthly installments of $950, with housing and utilities provided. This amount is currently allocated in the Fiscal Year 2017 budget and will be budgeted in Fiscal Year 2018.

LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF:

The County Attorney’s Office has approved the Agreement as to form and legal sufficiency.

PERSONNEL:

N/A

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:

Board policy requires the approval of all such agreements concerning County property and facilities.

IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:

The Parks & Recreation Department is responsible for coordination of all aspects of the Agreement for caretaker/management services at Lake Stone Campground.
