RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning Lawrence S. Powell's Appointment to the Pensacola Bay Bridge Naming Committee - Robert Bender, County Commissioner, District 4

That the Board confirm the appointment of Lawrence S. Powell as Commissioner Robert Bender's appointee on the Pensacola Bay Bridge Naming Committee, effective March 7, 2019, and continuing until the Board sunsets the Committee or through Commissioner Bender's term of office (2022).

BACKGROUND:

On February 21, 2019, the Board of County Commissioners adopted Resolution R2019-25 establishing the Pensacola Bay Bridge Naming Committee for the new $400 million dollar bridge over Pensacola Bay. As discussed in that meeting, each Commissioner was to bring back their appointee for Board approval at the next regular Board meeting.

The County Attorney's Office wrote the Resolution that the Board approved on February 21, 2019.
