RECOMMENDATION: |
Recommendation Concerning the Lease of the County-Owned Space at 150 West Maxwell Street, by Rebuild Northwest Florida, Inc. - Robert E. Dye, Facilities Management Department, Interim Director
That the Board adopt a Resolution to approve and authorize the Chairman to sign a Lease Agreement with Rebuild Northwest Florida, Inc., for the property located at 150 West Maxwell Street, Pensacola, Florida, for the term of three years, commencing on April 1, 2019, with the option to renew the lease for two additional two-year terms.
Rent is to be paid to the County in the amount of $1.00 per year.

BACKGROUND: |
Rebuild Northwest Florida, Inc. entered into a lease with the County for the property located at 150 West Maxwell Street, Pensacola, FL on March 26, 2007. On April 5, 2012 the Board approved a new lease effective April 1, 2012. This lease was for three years and allowed for two additional two-year terms. First Renewal of Lease was approved by the Board on 3/19/2015 and the Second Renewal of the Lease was approved by the Board on 3/16/2017. The current lease will expire on March 31, 2019.
This Lease requires Rebuild Northwest Florida, Inc., to pay for all utility service charges, including electricity, water, sewer, custodial services, pest control, security, telephone, internet and cable television.
Rebuild Northwest Florida, Inc. is a public/private partnership existing to coordinate need-based recovery initiatives for citizens of Santa Rosa and Escambia Counties impacted by Hurricane Ivan. This is a collaborative effort including private citizens, non-profit organizations, interfaith communities, government entities and businesses which will assist individuals and families in restoring their lives primarily, but not exclusively, by rebuilding and fortifying their homes.
Rebuild Northwest Florida, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3), non-profit corporation existing to coordinate need based recovery initiatives for citizens of Santa Rosa and Escambia Counties impacted by Hurricane Ivan.
