Recommendation Concerning a Resolution Declaring Escambia County a Second Amendment Sanctuary - Commissioner Doug Underhill, District 2

That the Board adopt and authorize the Chairman to sign a Resolution declaring Escambia County a Second Amendment Sanctuary.

BACKGROUND:

Second Amendment sanctuary refers to a Resolution to not expend resources to enforce gun control measures perceived as violations of the Second Amendment.

LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF:

Matthew R. Shaud, Assistant County Attorney, has reviewed and approved the Resolution as to form and legal sufficiency.

Board Policy, Section II, B8.

IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:

The Resolution will be signed by the Chairman and the Clerk’s Office will forward a copy to Governor Ron DeSantis
