RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation Concerning Application for the Emerald Coast Healthcare Coalition Grant - John Dosh, Interim Public Safety Department Director

That the Board authorize the submission of the Emerald Coast Healthcare Coalition Project Application requesting funds, in the amount of $8,795.99, for the purchase of a Plotter Printer for the Emergency Operations Center for Fiscal Year 2019/2020. If awarded, the funds are 100% reimbursable.

[Funding:  Fund 110, Other Grants and Projects, Revenue Account 334221]
BACKGROUND:
The Emerald Coast Healthcare Coalition is providing funding to members of the Emerald Coast Healthcare Coalition (ECHCC) as part of the project submission process. Funding will be made to address an identified healthcare delivery effienciency, capability or resource gap. Emergency Management needs to replace an end of life large format printer/plotter. The manufacturer of the current plotter only produces a limited amount of ink for this legacy plotter. It is difficult to find ink for the current plotter and in some cases certain colors are backordered for several months. In responding to disasters to include medical disasters, a great deal of plotting is done. Plots include aerials, maps, signage etc. In a large scale event the ink reserve for the plotter would be used up in short order and we may not be able to get ink to continue plotting. A new HP Plotter would alleviate this problem. Ink would be readily available and easy to acquire.
BUDGETARY IMPACT:
The Grant does not require any matching funds if awarded.
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF:
Legal approval as to form and sufficiency is not required due to the Application not requiring a signature per the guidance of Kristin Hual, Senior Assitant County Attorney.
