RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation Concerning Authorization to Take Action Regarding Defaulted Contract for Tuition Reimbursement Expenses - Jana Still, Human Resources Director

That the Board take the following action concerning authorization for legal action related to defaulted tuition reimbursement expenses:

A. Authorize the County Attorney's Office to file a small claims case against Shayna Rudolph, related to the default of her respective Reimbursement Obligation of educational expenses; and

B. Authorize the County Attorney's Office to prepare, and the Chairman to sign, all documents related to the aforementioned action.

BACKGROUND:
Shayna Rudolph entered into a Reimbursement Obligation with Escambia County on July 1, 2019. A Voucher - County of Escambia, Florida was submitted for advance payment on August 3, 2019. The aforementioned Reimbursement Obligation outlined committments to reimburse the County for all amounts expended by the County for related tuition and other eligible fees during the Program period. Ms. Rudolph tendered her resignation prior to fulfulling successful completion of courses. As of the day of this Recomendation, Ms. Rudolph owes the County $1,920.

The County Attorney's Office will prepare or approve all documents prior to execution by the Chairman.

Once authorized, the County Attorney's Office will file the necessary paperwork related to the small claim case.
