RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning the Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding between CareerSource Escarosa and the Escambia County School District - Tonya Green, Neighborhood & Human Services Department Director

That the Board approve and authorize the Chairman to sign, subject to Legal review and sign-off, the Amendment to the Memorandum of Understanding between CareerSource Escarosa and the Escambia County School District. The Amendment enables the School District to pay the allocated infrastructure costs to CareerSource Escarosa, per the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) legislation. This Amendment also updates the infrastructure costs for the 2018-2019 school year and includes the additional $99 for the actual infrastructure costs for the 2017-2018 school year.

THE AMENDMENT WILL BE DISTRIBUTED UNDER SEPARATE COVER.

BACKGROUND:

In accordance the Workforce Investment and Opportunity Act (WIOA) - Sections 678.700-678.755 and 678.760 and any state infrastructure mechanism requirement issued by the State of Florida, the funding of shared services and operating costs are to be coordinated by the Local Workforce Development Board with the partners for the funding of the infrastructure costs of the One-Stop Career Centers. CareerSource Escarosa will serve as the convener for WIOA partner meetings.

The amendment is subject to legal review and sign-off.

CareerSource Escarosa has coordinated with the Department of Neighborhood and Human Services in the submission of this request.
