RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning Contract Award for Construction Services for Sheriff Range Rehabilitation - Paul Nobles, Purchasing Manager, Office of Purchasing

That the Board approve and authorize the Acting County Administrator to sign the Agreement between Escambia County, Florida, and Chavers Construction, Inc., per the terms and conditions of PD 17-18.102, Construction Services for Sheriff Range Rehabilitation, for a lump sum of $487,251.

BACKGROUND:

The legal advertisement for this "Invitation to Bid" was advertised in the Pensacola News Journal on October 8, 2018. A mandatory pre-solicitation conference was held October 16, 2018, and was attended by four firms. Two bids were received on October 30, 2018. Chavers Construction, Inc. is the lowest, most responsive and responsible bidder.

All work associated with this recommendation was done in-house and no additional staff was required.

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:

This recommendation is in compliance with the Code of Ordinances of Escambia County, FL 1999, Chapter 46, Finance, Article II Purchases and Contracts.

IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:

The Office of Purchasing will issue the Attorney's prepared agreement and Purchase Order.
