RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning Supplemental Budget Amendment #027 - Stephan Hall, Budget Manager, Management and Budget Services

That the Board adopt the Resolution approving Supplemental Budget Amendment #027, Other Grants and Projects Fund (110), in the amount of $91,296, to recognize the remaining balance of grant proceeds from Fiscal Year 2017/2018 Budget to Fiscal Year 2018/2019, for a Department of Justice Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant for the Escambia County Sheriff's Department, for sworn officer overtime pay and fringe benefits associated with street level crime prevention bike patrol activities.

BACKGROUND:

scambia County Sheriff's Department was awarded the Department of Justice Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Grant (2016-DJ-BX-1080) for street level crime prevention activities on 08/18/2016. These funds were to be used for salaries for officers to do additional bike patrols in areas or communities with increased calls for service from the Sheriff's department. This resolution moves the remaining balance of these prior year grant funds into the current FY2018/19 Budget year for overtime and fringe benefits.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

This amendment will increase Fund 110 (Other Grants and Projects Fund) by $91,296.
