Recommendation Concerning the Reallocation of Capital Improvement Program Funds - Joy Jones, P.E., Public Works Department Director

That the Board approve the reallocation of funds from the Capital Improvement Program, in the amount of $174,577, from the Rebel Road Drainage Project, Fund 352, Local Option Sales Tax (LOST) III, Cost Center 210107, Transportation and Drainage (T&D) Project #16EN3471, to the Kenwood Drive Drainage Improvement Project, Fund 352, LOST III, Cost Center 210107, Project Number To Be Determined.

These projects are located in Commission District 1.

BACKGROUND:

Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners approve reallocating funds in the amount of $174,577 from the Rebel Road Drainage Improvement Project to the Kenwood Drive Drainage Improvement Project. The Rebel Road Drainage Project was completed on May 31, 2018.

The Kenwood Drive Drainage Improvement Project is proposed to alleviate persistent flooding that occurs across Kenwood Drive during heavy rain events. The preliminary design consists of installing a stormwater conveyance system along Kenwood Drive and an outfall system to convey the water to the Shadow Grove Subdivision stormwater pond.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

No budgetary impact occurs. Funding is currently available in Fund 352, "Local Option Sales Tax III", Account 210107.

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:

Scheduling and prioritization of capital improvement projects is at the discretion of the Board.

IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:

Upon Board approval of this request, a budget amendment will be forwarded to the Office of Management and Budget to reallocate the funds to the appropriate project.
