BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Department is utilizing two 1991 fire truck chasis outfitted for use as fuel trucks. These trucks have mileages of 166,381 and 236,829. These two trucks are heavily relied upon to provide fuel to equipment and generators. They are crucial to keeping the County fueled during emergency response. Additionally, these trucks are sent as part of mutual aide responses whenever Emergency Management or the Sheriff's Depertment respond to events such as Hurricane Michael in Bay County. The purchase of the two proposed new fuel trucks would be a much-needed enhancement that would bring improved reliability and efficiency to the County's Fuel Operations.
