Recommendation Concerning the Funding for Water and Youth Safety Pensacola - "Project Life Rings" - Commissioner Jeff Bergosh, District 1

That the Board approve the funding of $2500 to Water and Youth Safety Pensacola - "Project Life Rings", from Commissioner Jeff Bergosh's discretionary funds.

BACKGROUND:

Water and Youth Safety Pensacola, in conjunction with Pensacola Association of Realtors, is coordinating the purchase of 24 cabinets that will be equipped with a life ring and rope. The cabinets will be mounted on the railings behind Maritime Park and on the railings at Palafox Pier. The equipment in the cabinets can be accessed to help save someone who is in distress or may be drowning. The cabinets will be donated to the City of Pensacola, who will install and maintain the cabinets.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

The Board approved $50,000 in the Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Budget for each Commissioner to use as discretionary funds.
