RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning a Funding Allocation from the District 4 Discretionary Funds for Epps Christian Ministries in support of Their Thanksgiving Meal for the Community - Commissioner Robert Bender, District 4

That the Board approve a funding allocation, in the amount of $1,000, from Commissioner Robert Bender's discretionary funds to Epps Christian Ministries to assist them with their Thanksgiving Meal for the Community.

BACKGROUND:

Epps Christian Center Ministries is a 501-C3 organization that reaches out to the hungry, homeless and the less fortunate in our community. Throughout the year, they provide healthy and nutritious meals to all who come through their doors. They are committed to improving the quality of life and restoring the dignity of those they serve by providing a hot meal to any member of the community in need of one.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

The Board approved $50,000 in the Fiscal Year 2019-2020 Budget for each Commissioner to use as at their discretion.

Upon Board approval, Commissioner Bender's office will contact Pastor Sylvia Tisdale, Epps Christian Center Ministries, to obtain the necessary paperwork to process a reimbursement request.
