1.   Call to Order & Opening Remarks - Shelby Johnson, Chairman
  • The meeting was called to order at 5:30 pm.
             
2.   Roll Call & Declaration of Quorum - Susan Hendrix
  • Roll was called and a quorum was declared.
  • Members present: Anne Peterson, Sabrena Padgett, Tammy Penegar, Jason Gaylard, Denise Mann, Beth Fugate, Shelby Johnson, Carol Tanksley, Sonia Bush, Comr. Barry.
  • Staff present: Nick Simmons, Susan Hendrix, Carrie Stevenson, Rick O'Connor, Beth Bolles, Angela Hinkle, Dorothy Lee, Brian Estevez, Aly Schortinghouse, and Jereme Johnson.
             
3.   Proof of Publication - Susan Hendrix
  • The meeting was properly noticed by a press release on Friday, November 9, 2018.
             
4.   Approval of August 21, 2018, Meeting Minutes - Shelby Johnson, Chairman
  • Motion to accept the meeting minutes from August 21, 2018, was made by Jason Gaylard, seconded by Anne Peterson, and passed without opposition.
             
5.   Welcome and Introduction of Special Guest(s)
  • Rick O'Connor introduced his guest, Bernie Emmanuel.
             
6.   Program Update - Dorothy Lee, Family & Consumer Sciences Agent
  • Dorothy Lee presented a power point containing photos representing Family & Consumer Science's involvement with the 2018 Pensacola Interstate Fair.
             
7.   Hurricane Michael Recovery Efforts - Nick Simmons
  • Nick Simmons presented photos taken during Escambia County's recovery efforts in the Hurricane Michael affected areas of northwest Florida.
             
8.   4-H County Council Update - Hannah Thorne, County Council President
  • Hannah Thorne made a presentation to the Council and gave an update on current 4-H clubs and events.
             
9.   Other Items of Interest
  • Angela Hinkle noted that the Peanut Butter Challenge is still going on until Thanksgiving and that Escambia Extension had taken our current stock of donated peanut butter to Bay County to help with Hurricane Michael recovery efforts.
  • Nick Simmons expressed the Council's appreciation to those members rotating off the Council for their service to Escambia County.
             
10.   Adjournment
Motion made by Jason Gaylard and seconded by Anne Peterson to adjourn the meeting at 6:05 pm. Motion passed without opposition.
