MERIT SYSTEM PROTECTION BOARD
REGULAR MEETING

1.   CALL TO ORDER: At 5:00 p.m. on November 14, 2017, Chairperson Fay Harvey called the meeting to order. Merit System Protection Board members present were Rev. Gene Hudson, Fay Harvey, and Silvia Switzer.

2.   INVOCATION: The invocation was by Chairperson Fay Harvey.
             
3.   PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: MSPB Member Silvia Switzer lead the pledge.
             
4.   ADDITIONS/CORRECTIONS TO THE AGENDA: There being no additions or corrections to the agenda.
             
5.   ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA: Rev. Gene Hudson moved to adopt the agenda. Silvia Switzer seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
             
6.   APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Upon call for the approval of the minutes of the Merit System Protection Board meeting held on September 19, 2017, Rev. Gene Hudson moved for approval. MSPB Member Silvia Switzer seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
             
7.   PUBLIC FORUM: No one requested to address the Board.
             
8.   OLD BUSINESS: After motion and approval for Silvia Switzer to become the at-large Board member for the next term, Board members Rev. Gene Hudson and Silvia Switzer were administered the oath of office, and they were duly sworn in. Information was provided regarding the status of the Eriksen appeal. Should the appeal not be resolved, it is scheduled to be heard following the Board meeting on December 12, 2017.
             
9.   NEW BUSINESS: A new appeal has been filed by a Code Enforcement employee. The Notice of Disciplinary Action has not yet been received. The parties have indicated a desire to mediate.
             
10.   REPORT FROM APPOINTING AUTHORITY AND ELECTED OFFICIALS

c.   Santa Rosa Island Authority (SRIA)
             
11.   ATTORNEY'S REPORT: The attorney's report was presented as part of the old and new business discussion.
             
12.   ADJOURNMENT: Rev. Gene Hudson moved a motion to adjourn the meeting, Silvia Switzer seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
