| RECOMMENDATION: |
Recommendation Concerning Contract Award for Cove Avenue and Detroit Boulevard Bridge Replacements - Paul Nobles, Purchasing Manager, Office of Purchasing
That the Board approve and authorize the County Administrator to sign the Agreement between Escambia County, Florida, and Chavers Construction, Inc., per the terms and conditions of PD 16-17.058, Cove Avenue and Detroit Boulevard Bridge Replacements, in the amount of $2,034,047.66.

| BACKGROUND: |
| The legal advertisement for this "Invitation to Bid" was advertised in the Pensacola News Journal on July 03, 2017 and July 10, 2017. A Mandatory Pre-Solicitation Conference was held on July 18, 2017. Ten firms were represented at that meeting. An addendum was issued on July 18, 2017, to clarify three questions that were asked during the Mandatory Pre-Solicitation Conference. Bids were received from three (3) contractors on August 09, 2017. Chavers Construction, Inc. is the lowest most responsive and responsible bidder. |
