RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning the Memorandum of Understanding Between Escambia County, Florida, and the Portofino Master Homeowners Association, Inc., Relating to Landscaping Maintenance on County Road 399 - Joy Jones, P.E., Engineering Department Director

That the Board take the following action concerning the Memorandum of Understanding between Escambia County, Florida, and the Portofino Master Homeowners Association, Inc., relating to landscaping maintenance on County Road 399:

A. Approve the Memorandum of Understanding between Escambia County, Florida, and the Portofino Master Homeowners Association, Inc., relating to landscaping maintenance on County Road 399; and

B. Authorize the Chairman or Vice Chairman to execute the documents and any subsequent document(s) required for implementation of the project.

This project is located in Commission District 4.

BACKGROUND:

In November 2016, Escambia County completed the Portofino Traffic Calming Project located on County Road (CR) 399 (Via DeLuna Drive) on Pensacola Beach. The Portofino Traffic Calming Landscaping Project will be the final phase in completing the work in the project area.

Escambia County will oversee the solicitation, procurement, and installation of materials and plants associated with the landscaping design. Once the project is complete, the Portofino Master Homeowners Association will take over the maintenance and sustainment of the landscaping.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

N/A

LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF:

The Memorandum of Understanding has been reviewed and signed off on by the County Attorney's Office.

PERSONNEL:

No additional personnel will be required for this Recommendation.

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:

Board policy requires Board approval of all Agreements.

IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:

Upon Board approval and execution, the Memorandum of Understanding will be returned to the Portofino Master Homeowners Association for final execution and recording.
