RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning Renewal of Agreement Relating to Waste Services, Large Machine Mowing (P.D. 17-18.051) at Perdido Landfill - Patrick T. Johnson, Waste Services Department Director

That the Board approve and authorize the County Administrator to renew the Agreement Relating to Waste Services, Large Machine Mowing (P.D. 17-18.051) between Escambia County and Gulf Coast Environmental Contractors, Inc., per the terms and conditions of PD 17-18.051, for a term of one year, as provided in Section 2. Term.

BACKGROUND:

The legal advertisement for this "Invitation to Bid" was advertised in the Pensacola News Journal on April 17, 2018. Bids were received from two contractors on May 7, 2018. Gulf Coast Environmental Contractors, Inc., was the lowest, most responsive and responsible bidder.

In Section 2. Term, provision is made for the renewal of the Agreement and states: "... Upon mutual agreement, the Agreement may be renewed for two additional twelve (12) month terms." The anticipated annual expenditure is $54,320.

The Agreement was prepared by Senior Assistant County Attorney, Kristin D. Hual.

POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION:

This recommendation is in compliance with the Code of Ordinances of Escambia County, FL 1999, Chapter 46, Finance, Article II Purchases and Contracts.

IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION:

If Board of County Commissioners approves, Contract will continue as per original terms.
