Recommendation Concerning the Funding Request from Reverend John H. Powell, Sr., Truth For Youth, Inc. - Commissioner Grover C. Robinson, District 4

That the Board approve Commissioner Robinson's request to award $500 from his discretionary funds for the Youth Environmental Services (YES) Pilot Program that will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017, from 7:00 a.m., until 11:00 a.m., at the Belmont Cultural Center, 432 West Belmont Street, Pensacola, Florida.

BACKGROUND:

Rev. John H. Powell, Sr., made a request for funding from Commissioner Robinson for the one-day launch of the Youth Environmental Service (YES) initiative. Rev. Powell hopes that the Youth Environmental Service (YES) initiative will be a quarterly environmental endeavor to provide youth with an opportunity to participate in community projects that advance neighborhood beautification efforts.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

The Board approved $50,000 in the Fiscal Year 2017-2018 Budget for each Commissioner to use on special programs.
