Recommendation Concerning the Issuance of Fiscal Year 2017/2018 Purchase Orders, in Excess of $50,000 - Todd Humble, Library Services Department Director

That the Board authorize the utilization of the Florida Department of Management Services State Contract for Library Materials #715-001-07-01, for the purchase of materials for the West Florida Public Libraries from the following vendors, at the estimated annual amounts detailed below:

BACKGROUND:
There are no book wholesale jobbers in Escambia County. Multiple vendors are available on the Florida Department of Management Services State Alternative Contract Source for Library Materials #55101500-ACS-17-1 which is in effect until May 31, 2020. The West Florida Public Libraries will obtain costs from various suppliers on the agreement to purchase materials at the most favorable rate to the County. The purchase of books and materials is part of the budget for operating supplies for the West Florida Public Libraries and is funded by the Library Fund 113.
BUDGETARY IMPACT:

LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF:
Purchasing Department has determined the contract to be a viable contract for Escambia County to use. County Attorney office agrees with this determination.
