RECOMMENDATION: |
5:46 p.m. - A Public Hearing Concerning the Review of an Ordinance Amending the Future Land Use Map - SSA-2017-04
That the Board of County Commissioner (BCC) review and adopt an ordinance amending Chapter 7, the Future Land Use (FLU) Element, Policy FLU 1.1.1 to provide for an amendment to the 2030 FLU Map, changing the FLU category of a parcel within Section 08, Township 1S, Range 30W, Parcel Number 08-1S-30-3201-049-005, totaling 3.47 (+/-) acres, located on North Palafox Highway from Commercial (C) to Mixed-Use Urban (MU-U). |
BACKGROUND: |
The applicant requested to amend the 2030 FLU Map designation of a parcel within Section 08, Township 1S, Range 30W, parcel number 08-1S-30-3201-049-005 totaling 3.47 (+/-) acres, located on 9700 N Pensacola Boulevard, as more particularly described by Empire Land Surveying Inc, signed and sealed by Leland M. Empire, P.S.M. in the boundary survey dated June 16, 2017, attached as Exhibit A, from Commercial (C) to Mixed-Use Urban (MU-U). |
BUDGETARY IMPACT: |
No budgetary impact is anticipated by the adoption of this Ordinance. |
LEGAL CONSIDERATIONS/SIGN-OFF: |
The attached Ordinance has been reviewed and approved for legal sufficiency by Meredith D. Crawford, Assistant County Attorney. Any recommended legal comments are attached herein. |
PERSONNEL: |
No additional personnel are required for implementation of this Ordinance. |
POLICY/REQUIREMENT FOR BOARD ACTION: |
The proposed Ordinance is consistent with the Board’s goal “to increase citizen involvement in, access to, and approval of, County government activities.” |
IMPLEMENTATION/COORDINATION: |
This Ordinance, amending the LDC, will be filed with the Department of State following adoption by the board.
Implementation of this Ordinance will consist of an amendment to the Future Land Use Map of the Comprehensive Plan and distribution of a copy of the adopted Ordinance to interested citizens and staff.
The proposed Ordinance was prepared by the Development Services Department, in cooperation with the County Attorney’s Office and all interested citizens. The Development Services Department will ensure proper advertisement. |
