RECOMMENDATION:

Recommendation Concerning the Purchase of REVU Standard Electronic Plan Review Software from Bluebeam, Inc., for Building Services - Tim Tolbert, Department Director, Building Services Department

That the Board approve and authorize the purchase of three, one-year subscriptions of REVU Standard electronic plan review software from Bluebeam, Inc., for three computers in the Building Services Department to be utilized by the Building Codes Inspectors and Plans Examiners to allow for the submittal and acceptance of construction drawings in electronic format, with a per subscription cost of $349, and the total price for three subscriptions being $1,047.

BACKGROUND:

During Fiscal Year 2017-2018, the Board approved the use of the MyGovernmentOnline (MGO) Software Suite for the use of permit issuance in the Building Services Department. This transition allowed for the electronic application and issuance of building permits and provided a means for future electronic submittal and acceptance of construction drawings.

The Building Services Department is now ready to begin the process of implementing a fully automated plans review system capable of receiving, reviewing, and permitting projects solely on electronically provided construction drawings.

The electronic plans review software service that has successfully been integrated with MyGovernmentOnline to provide this service is REVU Standard from Bluebeam, Inc., and is recommended by South Central Planning and Development Commission (SCPDC), the vendor for MyGovernmentOnline.

The purchase of these three subscriptions of REVU Standard will be for three computer workstations located in the plans room of the Building Services Department and will be utilized by the Plans Examiners and the Building Codes Inspectors.

BUDGETARY IMPACT:

Funds are available in Fund 406, Building Inspections Fund, Cost Center 250115, Plans Review.
