RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation Concerning Funding Request for Christian Surfers Pensacola Family Beach Fest - Commissioner Robinson, District 4

That the Board approve the contribution of $3,500 of discretionary funds by Commissioner Grover Robinson to the 501c3 non-profit Christian Surfers Pensacola.
BACKGROUND:
Christian Surfers Pensacola is hosting “Family Beach Fest” on Saturday, May 26, 2018, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m.  This will be a free event for the public that will include live music and will take place at the main pavilion on Pensacola Beach.  There will be several food vendors participating as well.  The goal is to honor God, family and our military.  They will also be raising awareness for Five Two Backpack Ministry to help provide food for hungry school-age children in the Pensacola area.  All churches and ministries in the area are invited to participate through financial donations and/or volunteer staff.  All donations are tax deductible.
BUDGETARY IMPACT:
The Board approved $50,000 in the Fiscal Year 2017-2018 Budget for each Commissioner to use as discretionary money.
